ALWATAN Center workshop of the AVP. The mission of AVP (Alternatives to Violence Project) is to empower people to lead nonviolent lives. The program offers experiential workshops designed around the themes of Affirmation, Self Esteem, Cooperation, Communication, Community Building, Conflict Resolution and Trust. A series of three workshops leads to a qualification as an apprentice facilitator. Workshop agendas draw upon games and creative exercises which are constantly under development. Facilitators use techniques calling for consensus decision-making, role-modeling, empowerment of participants, group discussions, and evaluations by participants.
